Senator Mikulski's bill purposes to alleviate the financial and emotional burden placed on families who care for disabled loved ones.
The Family Caregiver Relief Act of 2003 (S.1214) would extend a tax credit of up to $5000 to apply toward the expenses of families who provide for loved ones with chronic needs, including prescription drugs, home health care, durable medical equipment, adult day care, respite care, physical and occupational therapy, and specialized services for children.
