Last Updated:

Equipment Measurements

This information is pertinent for the widths of doors and hallways. Remember, for turning: a manual wheelchair requires a diameter of 5' x 5' and a power wheelchair a diameter of 6' x 6'.

If the person is in a wheelchair, then before beginning the remodeling process, these details will be needed:

Is the wheelchair a manual or power chair? ________.

Width of the wheelchair including the wheels _______.

Height of the wheelchair, seat to floor including the cushion _________.

Length of the wheelchair (tip of leg rest to tip of push handles or anti-tippers) _________.

Are chair arms removable or do they flip back? ___________.

Other equipment the person will need (eg. hospital bed, hoyer lift) and approximate measurements.
